About Us

Martin Training and Consultancy is a service specialising in domestic abuse, with an in depth knowledge in supporting male victim/survivors and those who identify as LGBTQIA+. Luke Martin LLM of Martin Training and Consultancy, has both an academic and practical background in the field and has worked with many of the leading domestic abuse organisations in the country, including; SafeLives, Women's Aid, Respect and Broken Rainbow.

Services

Martin Training and Consultancy provides bespoke training packages for services that may come in to contact with victim/survivors and perpetrators of domestic abuse. Training aims to give attendees a further understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and equip them with the knowledge and insight to be able to offer sufficient advice and signposting to anybody who may present as a victim of domestic abuse.

Luke Martin


Luke Martin has over a fifteen years experience working in the domestic and sexual abuse sector. With both an academic and practical background in the field, Luke has established himself as one of the leading professionals on working with male victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

He is also an associate for SafeLives, training Independent Domestic Violence Advisors to an OCN Level 3 accreditation standard. Luke is also a Respect Approved Trainer and authored Respect’s ‘Working with Male Victims Toolkit’. He has also written a 'Supporting Male Victims of Domestic Abuse' manual, and 'Counter-Allegations of Domestic Abuse' manual for Victim Support, which will be rolled out nationally in 2024. 

Historically Luke has been brought in to several services to create and establish support services for male victims of domestic abuse, including Arch North Staffs and Solace Women’s Aid as well as deliver the frontline service as a SafeLives accredited Independent Domestic Violence Advisor. 

Academically, Luke continues to lecture on men’s experiences of abuse, and is a guest lecturer for Goldsmith’s University on MA Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse. With an academic background in Law, he also lectures on several law and criminology courses. 2016 also saw the publication of ‘Debates of Difference: Male Victims of Domestic Violence and Abuse’ in Domestic Violence: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Protection, Prevention and Intervention, published by Palgrave Macmillan.

Luke is also an accredited Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) Chair and Author.
